What are the hours of operation?

The Modern Butcher is open Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 5pm, Saturday from 11am to 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 2pm. The shop is closed on Mondays.

Where do your meats come from?

We work with local farms that are within 150 miles of the shop, such as Montshire located in Haverhill, NH, and Laurel Ridge Farm in Ashby, MA. We've personally visited these farms and know the farmers.

Do you offer online or call-ahead ordering?

Sandwiches can be ordered over the phone for pickup or walk-in during Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 4pm. Sandwiches on Saturdays are walk-in only. If you're looking for a specific cut of meat, please call during business hours.

The Modern Butcher offers multiple regular sandwich options, as well as one rotating sandwich. The daily sandwich offerings are posted on our social media at opening. Sandwiches are currently available Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 4pm, or until they sell out.

As lifetime North Shore residents, we take the "North Shore" roast beef 3-way sandwich very seriously. A lot of care and effort goes into creating this sandwich with its cult-like following. We only offer the North Shore beef 3-way on Saturdays for several reasons.
