Question 1

What types of dog training services does Make Sit Happen LLC offer?

Accepted Answer

Make Sit Happen LLC offers private dog training in the North and Northwest Phoenix Valley, including home courses, private training, board & train options, and free courses & resources. They cater to pet dogs, sport dogs, difficult dogs, and puppies, with the goal of helping dog owners build skills, overcome struggles, and have fun with their canine companions.

Question 2

What is concept training?

Accepted Answer

Concept training is a positive reinforcement and solution-focused approach to dog training that targets the underlying reasons for a dog's behavior, rather than just addressing the symptoms. It aims to reshape the dog's brain and develop the specific skills and concepts the dog needs, leading to lasting behavior transformations beyond just teaching basic commands.

Question 3

How is concept training different from traditional obedience classes or punishment-based methods?

Accepted Answer

Concept training goes beyond just teaching commands. It's about setting the dog up to make the right choices independently, without constant direction from the owner. The training games and exercises are designed to be fun for both the dog and the owner, making the training process enjoyable rather than feeling like work.

Question 4

What are some of the key concepts and skills covered in concept training?

Accepted Answer

The concept training approach addresses a range of skills and concepts, including calmness, optimism, impulse control, disengagement, proximity, and tolerance of frustration. The goal is to help each dog develop the specific skills and concepts they need, as every dog is unique in their strengths, weaknesses, and personality.

Question 5

Why should I choose Make Sit Happen LLC for my dog's training?

Accepted Answer

Make Sit Happen LLC is led by a pro dog trainer who has created the concept training approach in collaboration with veterinary behaviorists. Their focus is on positive, solution-focused training that helps dogs become the best versions of themselves, no matter the individual dog's needs or challenges. The training is designed to be fun for both the dog and the owner, leading to remarkable behavior transformations.
