Question 1

What is causing the server error in the '/' application?

Accepted Answer

The server error is caused by a runtime application error that occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely, but you can view them by running the application on the local server machine.

Question 2

How can I enable the details of the error message to be viewable on remote machines?

Accepted Answer

To enable the details of the error message to be viewable on remote machines, you need to create a tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. The tag should have its "mode" attribute set to "off".

Question 3

How can I replace the current error page with a custom error page?

Accepted Answer

You can replace the current error page with a custom error page by modifying the "defaultredirect" attribute of the application's <customerrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

Question 4

What information can I find in the web.config configuration file?

Accepted Answer

The web.config configuration file contains information about the application's custom error settings, including the "mode" attribute of the <customerrors> tag and the "defaultredirect" attribute for specifying a custom error page URL.

Question 5

How can I troubleshoot the server error in the '/' application?

Accepted Answer

To troubleshoot the server error, you can start by checking the web.config configuration file and ensuring that the <customerrors> tag is properly configured. If the issue persists, you may need to review the application code and logs to identify the root cause of the error.
