Question 1

What is ELPM's mission?

Accepted Answer

ELPM's mission is to improve the lives of young children, their families, and communities by creating high-quality early learning facilities in underserved neighborhoods where Head Start providers and other non-profit early learning providers can offer free or reduced-rate, high-quality early education to children from birth to five years old.

Question 2

How does ELPM achieve its mission?

Accepted Answer

ELPM achieves its mission by working with pre-qualified non-profit early care providers to evaluate their space needs and program expansion or maintenance requirements, finding the perfect buildings and spaces to renovate into high-quality, nurturing, and safe early learning environments, raising capital funds for the purchase, construction, and/or renovations, and then leasing the facilities back to the providers at below-market rates. ELPM also raises grant funds through its Quality Facilities Initiative (QFI) to help existing centers and providers address maintenance projects they have not been able to fund, handling the projects from beginning to end on behalf of the awarded providers.

Question 3

How can individuals support ELPM's mission?

Accepted Answer

Individuals can support ELPM's mission by donating to the organization, either through financial contributions or by volunteering their time and skills. ELPM relies on the support of the community to continue its work of creating high-quality early learning facilities and supporting the providers who deliver crucial early education services.

Question 4

What types of services does ELPM provide?

Accepted Answer

ELPM provides a range of services to support early learning providers in underserved communities. These include finding and renovating suitable buildings into high-quality early learning environments, leasing the facilities to providers at below-market rates, providing maintenance and capital improvements, and securing grant funding to help providers address maintenance projects they have been unable to fund on their own.
