Citizens Internet Empowerment Coalition

The Citizens Internet Empowerment Coalition (CIEC) is a coalition of internet users, library groups, publishers, online service providers, and civil liberties groups based in the United States. The CIEC fought against the Communications Decency Act, which the U.S. Supreme Court found unconstitutional in 1997, recognizing the importance of free speech and expression on the internet.
