Brown Chapel AME Church

Brown Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Selma, Alabama was established in 1866 as a prayer movement and later organized into an A.M.E. church. During the 1960s, the church played a significant role in the voting rights movement and continues to be a prominent institution in the local community.
