Bethel AME Church

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, has a rich history dating back to 1820. The church, the oldest surviving black place of worship in Carlisle, has been providing a Jesus-centered theology of liberation and justice on East Pomfret Street for over 200 years. Despite the structural condition of their historic building, the church continues to welcome worshippers through in-person and virtual services, as well as educational programs, fostering a vibrant church community.
